Opening Talk: A Miserable Disappointment No More?
John Punter, Professor of Urban Design at Cardiff University, examines the impact of urban design on the regeneration of Sheffield City Centre and the other seven English ‘Core Cities’ since the publication of the Urban Task Force report (1999). He will draw on ‘Urban Design and the British Urban Renaissance’, a major research project he has recently overseen. With contributions from Philip Booth, local academic and author of the Sheffield chapter of the study.
