SSA Building Visit - Nottingham


It's time for a half day trip on Friday 3rd May 2013, 1:00- around 6:00pm (you are free to leave whenever you choose). An 'art venues' tour to both Nottingham Contemporary and the New Art Exchange, conducted by their respective coordinators.

Designed by Caruso St John Architects the building aims to recreate the feeling of found spaces while being a celebration of the lacemaking history.

> New Art Exchange
RIBA EM award winner 2009, the New Art Exchange is the winning competition entry from Hawkins Brown for the 'UK's first regional inner city arts centre devoted solely to the promotion of Black and Asian arts.'

Unfortunately as this is a day trip there is a charge. There is a £2 entry fee per person to Nottingham Contemporary. 

Travel will be make your own way via the 1pm train to Nottingham (return ticket to Nottingham is £12.80), and walking to Nottingham Contemporary. If you are driving/ wanting to carpool please let us know and we can match-make.

Day itinerary

- 1pm                 Depart Sheffield (52 minute journey)
- 2:15 - 3:15pm   Nottingham Contemporary tour
- 4:00 - 5:00pm   New Art Exchange tour
- Train back to Sheffield whenever you choose
