Back to Lunchtime visits, on Tuesday 14th May 2013, 1:30-2:30pm a tour of the Sheffield University Arts Tower building, conducted by Russell Light of the Sheffield School of Architecture and Alan Robshaw of HLM Architects.
Recently refurbishment by HLM Architects, the 78m tall tower, won the Sheffield Design award 2012 Conservation award, and People’s choince award. "This familiar character on the Sheffield skyline has been sensitively restored and updated.-- An exemplary piece of modern architectural conservation, a building expertly restored and sensitively adapted under the careful stewardship of an informed client and engaged end-user." Sheffield Design Award judges.

On Friday 7th June 2013, 1:30-3:30pm a tour of The Lyceum and The Crucible. A tour behind the scenes conducted by Sheffield Theatres.
Built
in 1969-71 the Crucible, home to World Snooker Championship, is a
producing theatre, with workshops for the productions. Refurbished in
2010, the theatre is "of special architectural interest as one of a
small number of innovative post-war theatre designs"

The Lyceum built in 1897, is the last surviving theatre outside of London design by W G R Sprague.
